Good places for snow trips in california?

My family and my aunt and ucles famiuly want to go to snow sometime this month but we dont know what the best place is… We dont want to go skiing or snow boarding we just want a place were it snows so the kdis can play and a place that has good cabins and a place to ice skate i looked at big bear but the cabins look old and awful soo plzzz help me!!!!
