Where should we go for an extended family vacation in the continental US? 25 people all ages?

I do not like places like Disney World, but I don’t have many ideas, we have to be able to drive there from the Midwest (we are 3 hours southwest of Chicago), though it can be a long drive.
I am going to recommend a ski trip to Colorado, but I don’t think people will go for it.
I’ve never been to Canada, but I think that’s not out of the question as long as it isn’t too far a drive.
