Appalachian or Cataloochee Ski Resort?

Hi. My family and my friends are going to head for North Carolina to do some snowboarding, skiing, and tubing for about 4 days . I’ve been skiing before, but everyone else has never been skiing or snowboarding, so they’ll be taking lessons. From any experience from going to either of these places, or from your knowledge; Which resort would you go to? Appalachian? Cataloochee?
